Nepenthes rajah artwork by Francois Mey
Nepenthes rajah on the slopes of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo by François Sockhom Mey.
Known as the ‘king pitcher plant’, Nepenthes rajah produces the most voluminous traps of all carnivorous plants. It has a mutualistic partnership with summit rats, which lick nectar from the pitcher lids, but if the rats slip, they can be caught and killed within the plants’ enormous pitchers!
Only 50 signed and numbered copies produced! Extremely high-quality prints of this artwork (printed through a twelve-colour print process on exquisite artistic paper). Each piece of artwork comes with a unique video (specific to each, individual signed piece) showing the artist signing the exact piece of artwork yo...

With its unusual, "skeletal finger" used to winkle out grubs from hol...

Just re-started video and feel double stupid as I read a excellent book about Fletcher Christian and Capt Bligh, about how (& my Capt Cook reference) Bligh was Midshipman on Cooks 2nd voyage/endeavour, gaining such knowledge that his charting of the coastal borders he observed in they're epic 4000 mile journey was used by the Admiralty for something like a 150 years, but once in the trial for mutineers family owned newspapers and portrayed Bligh has a cruel inhumane person which couldn't be further from the truth, though 1 of the 3 mutineers (my minds blank onthe other Colderage's mariner) but 1 unfortunately pled guilty hoping for leniency which wasn't granted.❤❤❤

Did they really have to kill all of the reindeer? Now the only thing a human can eat on the island are seals and birds, which I imagine are seasonal. Just because the reindeer are not native, does not mean that they are detrimental to the environment. To be frank there is not much life to disrupt to begin with, so it can only be a plus. I just think it is silly. Why not leave them alone on the island? Someone obviously went to an enormous amount of trouble to bring them there in the first place. There presence also makes the island much more habitable. Without them, surviving on the island would be much harder. Perhaps impossible without a boat. There is not really any other permanent land animal you can eat otherwise, so killing them all just makes the island more dangerous for future ship wreck survivers, researcher, explorers, and anyone else who happens on the island. This is surely why they were placed there in the first place. Why do this? For a song bird? I love song birds, but they aren't very useful when you are trying to survive. You are just making South Georgia worse.

It's worth noting, however, that Tristan da Cunha is not completely immune to crime. In 2004, a high-profile case involving sexual abuse and assault of young girls over a 40-year period came to light, which shocked the community and led to the conviction of six males. leaving the doors unlocked is ridiculous

I don't trust their current mayor Simon Young for an instance. Their only "naturalised" politician. Why was he so eager to move there after his first visit in the early 90's? Why was he so readily accepted into their society? This island needs to be depopulated.
